WELCOME TO RITE III
Who we are:
The Rite III service at St. John’s is a community offering a brave space to the city of Atlanta. We love God in different ways and by different names...and we want you to be able to as well. And when we say “you” we mean just that: you. Tired you. Recovering you. Scared you. Brown you. Smiling you. Queer you. Hungry you. Broken you. Lonely you. Trans you. Just you. As you are. In whatever you’re wearing. Wherever you’re at in life.
We seek to worship in the midst of the mess with words that speak to where we are now. We won’t be wearing fancy church outfits or leading any holy parades with smoke and organs and choirs and the like. While some of us love that stuff, we realize it’s not for everyone. What is for everyone is truth, trust, and permission to not be “okay.”
Who we aren’t:
The Rite III service isn’t a group of people who think they’ve got it all figured out. It isn’t a community worried about “getting it right” because we know we never really can. We aren’t concerned with how you look or what you wear or where you live. We could care less how you get to where you’re going or where you lay your head at night. And we definitely don’t care how “good” a Christian you are or if you’re even a Christian at all!
We aren’t a group with pomp or circumstance. We aren’t a community with secret rules and expectations. We aren’t exclusive or fancy. And we definitely aren’t a group that’ll judge you.
So, who are you?
We’d love to find out. If anything listed above sounds like you, come check us out. We’ll be here Sundays at 5:30 at
3480 East Main Street College Park, Georgia 30337.
